I must confess, one of my pet peeves are stupid posts on internet message boards. Posting questions which are obviously answerable by doing a Google search on the web, reading the instructions or FAQs of a website or asking the institution directly.
I am not being mean here. Some things can be answered by common sense and simple internet resourcefulness. I know this post may be stupid but I can’t help but blog this.
These are just some of the recent message board threads I find stupid:
[Obviously, a savings account is not the same as a current account! Have you ever had a bank account ever? Have you ever bothered asking any bank? Even if you don’t know that, typing current account, savings account or current account on Google would yield an answer in less than a second. What a waste of time and message board space!]
Does Amazon.com ship to my country?
[While anyone may answer that question who would you think has the final say on whether Amazon.com ships to your jungle?! Shouldn’t you go to Amazon.com first and click HELP and go to the Shipping info?!]
[My goodness, have you even tried to call or visit the bank’s branch which captured your ATM card FIRST?!?! Minutes or hours spent on searching the web and creating a new thread would not have been wasted if you’ved called that damn bank in the first place!]
By the way, my other pet peeves are, to name another one, are bank and credit card employees who don’t know their products well and give the worse service to existing and prospective clients. However, that would be in another blog post.
I’m feeling calm now…
