Exclusive, nagpapatrol, Chief Correspondent Korina Sanchez.

Its been two months now when almost two million Filipinos worldwide have been reading the blog of Brian Gorrell, an Australian. He writes about was allegedly cheated and scammed by DJ Montano a Filipino socialite and lifesyle columnist. Today, for the first time Montano answers the allegations. Chief Correspondent Koriana Sanchez has an exclusive.

DJ Montano, a controversial writer and photographer, approached ABS-CBN along with his family to air their side of the story amidst the allegations of his former Australian friend, Brian Gorrell.

Brian Gorrell: I sent this money for my future…haha…for my business that we were creating together. This is money that I need back.

This seventy thousand, this amount of seventy thousand, you mean it does not exist, he never gave you the amount?

Gorrell started his blog on the first week of March and has written how his seventy thousand Australian dollars, his investment for a restaurant venture was stolen by Montano. Montano denied receiving such amount.

DJ Montano: Not at all, Not at all.

Brian’s friend and co-host in a weekly radio show, Mo Twister represented him on the interview.

Mo Twister: So the whole restaurant, openning a restaurant, all of that is completely false?

DJ Montano: I have no business plans with him whatsoever.

Montano also denied that he’s a cocaine addict.

DJ Montano: I am not a cocaine addict.

Korina Sanchez: Okay so that is an outright denial?

DJ Montano: Of course. Since this blog came out, people would just come up to me and say, hey, pay up, or you know they annonous…annonymously slip papers and say pay up

He says it was his life savings, how did you spend it?

Gorrell declined to take part on the interview through the telephone from Australia nor at least listened. He said that Montano evaded the many times he tried to reach him. However, he gave questions for Montano to answer.

DJ Montano: First and foremost, I did not have any money to spend from him. He was given everyth…every bit of it.

Korina Sanchez: Ask him why he cheated on me and ask him why he is a…a thief.

DJ Montano: I may be many things. I have certainly had my share of my mistakes. I’m…I’m far from being a saint. One thing I am not, I am not a thief.

Meanwhile, Montano’s family who was also mentioned in Gorrell’s blog, also broke their silence.

Korina Sanchez: You mean, your baby’s photo was published.

Weena Montano-Basa (sister): Yes, in the blog. I don’t think that’s fair to publish an innocent ah…baby.

Aurora Montano-Laurel (mother): What is seventy thousand, Australian dollars? It’s so easy for us to pay but my son does not owe him money. It is a matter of principle.

Benjie Laurel (step-father): Some sort of a blackmail, I think when he uh, was able to live here, he lived a very, very comfortable life. He lived like a king and of course, ah now he’s trying to make something out of this ah thing ah I dunno, he’s trying to make money maybe.

According to the Montano’s lawyer, they will proceed with filing a liber suit in the Philippines and even in Australia. They believe that they will win the case. Gorrell said in a message to us that he is ready to face any suit because he’s the one that’s telling the truth.

DJ Montano: For Brian, I would like to challenge him to finally have the courage to face me. I have not been hiding. I have not left the country. I am not afraid of him. I will see him in court.

Korina Sanchez: Korina Sanchez, patrol ng Pilipino.
